Project Sapphire Revision 4 update

Posted by Ryan M. Gocal on July 21, 2014 at 5:25 AM

Update Revision 4 was pushed yesterday to Alpha users as this update focused on the physical appearance of Sapphire as well as a slight revamped touch to how we use Google Now. A good portion of the icons are starting to get revamped to support a number of Drawable sizes to support all of those curious Sense 6 powered HTC devices so they dont miss out on this project. You might notice a smoother transisition from the app drawer to your screens or swiping from one to screen to another, this is because of that migration. Another cool thing Ive worked on is the Google Search bar. I went ahead and removed the Quick Search from the persistant search bar and it now brings down the house by summoning Google Now instantly for both a voice and command search. So, we made this change because some of you dont have the Always listening update yet so why not just let have google now power the search all together? The voice Icon will be changing here soon, its just not determined yet of what its position will be yet. Ive bounced back and forther between an all apps button, settings button, or removing it all together. I figured we would just play with it for awhile and see what the users think of it.

Unitll than, have fun!
